Dwayne was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and grew up as a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. Dwayne got his first taste of southern gospel music when he joined the Londonaires as their baritone singer in 1982. It was at the time that he found a true love for this soul touching style of gospel music. Dwayne is very passionate about his career as a professional firefighter. He finds it a privilege to be able to work at a job he loves and also have the opportunity to sing about his Lord on his days off. Dwayne started singing at a young age as well. His first solo was at the age of 7 when he sang a familiar song "The Lighthouse" in his church. His favorite scripture is Psalm 91.
